Food has always been a symbol of LOVE 🤎
It serves as a baseline In a restaurant, and FOOD is what brings families together in a home.
This simple idea is easy to grasp as we all need nutrients to survive, yet 1 in 4 LA families are food insecure.
Food is resistance as we fight bigotry through advocacy. We need this energy now more than ever.
This org has been very fortunate to have an amazing community who has pushed us closer into our 6th year; pushing theory to the side and boots on the ground to get the work done.
We closed out 2025 strong with a wonderful 4th quarter push and will continue into 2026 amidst the madness.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned this year, it’s the power of food. From the devastating LA wildfires to the fear caused by ICE raids, one thing remains true — gathering around a meal brings people together.
We’re grateful to be highlighted by @guardian@victorianamkung for our deep commitment to community. Today we want to thank Damián Diaz, co-founder of @nouswithoutyou , an LA-based nonprofit providing food security for undocumented people, including the back-of-house staff from bars and restaurants who are often unseen yet essential.

Anthony Bourdain was a fierce advocate for immigrant restaurant workers. He once said “If Mr. Trump deports 11 million people or whatever he’s talking about right now, every restaurant in America would shut down,” I often times wonder what words he’d have to add to this administration, considering the current political and social climates that we’re living in.
A grand majority of Immigrants work in Back of House positions cooking our meals, washing our dishes and cleaning our eateries. But these same individuals rarely if ever actually sit down and enjoy the award winning food they cook every day.
For those who work (or worked) in the restaurant industry you know that before each service, the staff would sit and eat a Family Meal. This is a great way to make sure everyone was fed, but also allowed for the Front & Back of the House to sit and eat together, before the organized chaos took hold.
Now that we’re a week into the mass raids here in Los Angeles, families are afraid of leaving their homes. Thousands upon thousands of people are terrified to go to work. Scared to leave their homes just to fill up their gas tanks.
It seems families can’t even go to their super market without fearing that they might not make it back home to see their kids.

We are seeking restaurant partners to show some love to our families during these fucked up times. If you are the owner or a Chef of a restaurant in LA county and would like to support a family with an amazing meal please reach out and get on our “Family Meal” queue. Those Chefs interested must be willing to deliver personally or have their staff member deliver ; no uber eats, no grubhub BS - real deliveries for real people. 🫂
