It was a good year running the GR86 for Time Trials with COMSCC and occasionally PCA NER and NCR HPDE. It took a lot of abuse on the track, trying its best to lay down faster and faster laps for its class. It is not surprising that the transmission eventually gave up. Time for it to have some R&R.

It is absolutely a sad news that Pitt Race will cease to be operated as a race track at the end of 2025 in the light of new ownership. I feel lucky that I not only had the chance to drive, but also race, regardless how grassroots it could be, on such a well built facility. I could obviously understand the rationale of selling as well as the rumored redevelopment plan to turn the site into a data center, but nevertheless it is a huge loss to the track and racing community. You will be missed.

Trying to do some low-cost wheel-to-wheel racing with @pcasimracing and learn how to drive with less feedback. The practice race was fun, but it was certainly challenging to run an unfamiliar car on an unfamiliar track, especially since it was a high-horsepower car without any assists. Hope the actual race tomorrow will be better, and I won't make stupid mistakes.

Everyone will have an on track incident eventually. We are constantly pushing for the limit of the car and the boundaries of the track. It’s just the cost of doing business. Managed a high 1:45 during time trial with @comscc today at Palmer in clockwise direction and set the new T60 class track record. A big shout out to the timing crew. Their stop watch recorded time is only 0.02 seconds different from my Aim Solo time (1:45.81 vs 1:45.79). The trophy fits on the gas filler neck perfectly.

A crazy event at WGI. Clutch failed 2 days prior and had to drop the transmission at the track and scrambled for a band-aid fix. Managed an all-out lap before the clutch gave out again.

A great weekend at Canaan Motor Club with MassTuning. Signed up last minute to hangout with friends. Enjoyed great food and had a lot of fun. Car took a lot of abuse pushing for lap times and giving people rides. Hopefully a fluid change will make up for it. Managed a 1:05.4 this time.

Some mundane behind the scenes resulted from track days that we don’t really talk about: maintenance. Just so happens that all of the engine and drivetrain fluids need to be changed on both the GR86 and BRZ. Lots of bottles.

First time running Mosport today. It is a super fun track but the weather is a bit on and off. Managed a 1:34.95 but there’s definitely more time that can be found. Maybe a 1:33 for time trial next Tuesday?

Might not be the most modded car in the car show area at the Wicked Big Meet, but we sure have the biggest canopy.

There is always the element of luck doing tracks. Imagine this is your out lap during the time trial. Suddenly, you have the wrong set ups and tires before you can go around the track.

The promised T60 class track record lap from the 2025 COMSCC Palmer CCW Time Trial, 1:45.613 official. Definitely some minor mistakes here and there, but it is a scary ride for sure. Palmer is not known for being forgiving at all. I am bringing this car to the Wicked Big Meet this Sunday, 6/8, as a show car. Come and check it out, along with a huge number of Subarus. And I really need to get rid of the oil pressure overlay since it never worked right.
