ARC’TERYX IS IN MANCHESTER AND SO IS NOTS // recently we’ve had the pleasure of working on a art piece for @arcteryxuk new store 🥹💚 // One topic we feel strongly about is the stigma surrounding “crafts” and how it’s historically associated with women’s work.
A quote that inspired this piece is: “When women do it, it’s a craft. When men do it, it’s art.”
We had the pleasure of creating an art installation for Arc’teryx that uses a mix of reclaimed climbing rope alongside our traditional techniques and materials that we have transformed into something new and meaningful. The piece combines traditional embroidery techniques—cross-stitch, basketry, weaving, and knotting—to challenge boundaries between art and craft.
