GN020 “Onward Journey” by Lo and Behold
“Onward Journey” is Louis Harding’s first solo album as Lo and Behold. At its core it’s a very British indie-pop record, but its minimal home production and motorik drum machines give it a gothic cold-wave finish. Fans of Cleaners from Venus and Lives of Angels will find plenty to vibe with here.
Louis is currently a member of Barcelona’s @belgradoband and has played in countless punk and hardcore bands over the years. Good Throb, The Shitty Limits, and The Love Triangle all had a particular impact on me, and they’re a big reason why I’m involved in DIY today — so this release is an honour for sure.
We’re making tapes as usual, but we’re also very chuffed to say we’re doing a limited run of individually lathe-cut 7”s. The sleeves are hand screen-printed, the centre labels hand-stamped, and they look gorgeous.
Born to the Victors / An Idiot’s Grin is streaming now. The rest of the tape, plus news of an American release, coming very soon.
We’re not putting this up on Spotify. In support of everyone deleting their subscriptions, we’ve made everything a free download on Bandcamp (effective after the pre-order period)
