The tranquility and beauty of my maternal home attracts whatever remains of me after a physically and mentally excruciating college week. The sheer contrast from the fast paced city life is something that warmly embraces me every single time. I will never get tired of the way my grandmas face lights up when she sees me on a Friday night. I will never get tired of her nostalgic stories. Even though I am familiar with a lot of her stories, the narration is still as interesting as the first time. I love the way she pampers me, perhaps even more than my own parents ever did. She lets me take out the laziest version of myself (omg I’m so spoiled, aren’t I?)
It’s not much, I tried to capture what it felt like being at home. Every single sound was captured from the environment. I tried to be as subtle as I could about recording her, but there is only so much you can do before she noticed and became shy.

"I suppose in the end, the whole of life becomes an act of letting go, but what always hurts the most is not taking a moment to say goodbye."

Life of Pi is an eyegasmic spiritual experience that is truly second to none. Revisiting this film is the equivalent of getting a warm hug from a friend you haven't seen in forever. Bombay Jayashri's soothing voice will always make me tear up during the opening sequence. Irrfan Khan is beautiful. A decade later (and decades from now) Rhythm and Hue's work still feels more magical than technical. Everything from the primary characteristics of Richard Parker (and the other animals) to his secondary motions is beautifully and intrinsically realized. It's pure cinematic wizardry. Life of Pi never gives you the answer to any spiritual dilemma that you might have, but instead, it gives you an almost incomparable ground on which you can ponder and find those answers yourself. This week had a lot of memories to cherish and the re-watch was definitely one of them.

LOTR is one of the greatest trilogies ever created. After watching ROTK, I remember sitting here, depressed for the next two days. Not because the ending was sad, because it was over. Even a 12 hour extended cut wasn’t enough.
The Breathtaking Visuals (more like beauty of New Zealand). Amazing performances (fav is Viggos Aragon) .Howard Shores inspiring score.Ground breaking special effects that stood the test of time.
LOTR is perfect.
