I remember last year when we started off wedding planning, I was indifferent about having a traditional wedding. I thought it was….for a lack of a better word, old schooled and as far as the traditional rights were done, let’s just focus on the white wedding. But my best guy, my love said we will do both and he wanted it in a very cultural way, he wanted every element of our Igbo culture to be shown, and that “village love” 😂 he loves to call it to be shown. As we couldn’t go back home due insecurities, he said will bring the East here to Ibadan (my family home). As the days grew closer and closer I became more excited than he was and I loved every part of the day. We danceddddd and we truly enjoyed every part of it. Having my friends and family fly and travel into Ibadan just for this was honestly just amazing and humbling. Truly grateful.
