When I got home this evening, I found my aunty eating bread with Black Cat peanut butter and drinking tea.
It immediately reminded me of something that happened a long time ago in Maseru, Lesotho.
One day, a stranger knocked on our door. My mom opened it and saw a woman carrying a baby on her back.
The woman greeted and then said, “I am hungry. Can I please have some bread and water?” (Still recall vividly).
My mom welcomed her inside, gave her a chair, and asked my sister to prepare bread with peanut butter and tea for her.
My dad was sitting quietly, just watching the woman and her baby Lol!😂
After she left, my dad who was an MK commander asked my mom, “So this woman passed all the other houses on this street just to come ask for food here?”
My mom, being a Christian woman, said “It’s because Jesus guided her to this house.” Lol 😂
My dad paused and said, “Alright!! No argument! but I won’t be staying here tonight.”
My n***gga picked up his small bag and left.
Later, in the early hours of the morning (ngama-Ams’) the yard was full of activity,. There were combis, flashing lights cutting through the darkness , and dogs barking everywhere.
My father, a man of Mkhonto we Sizwe, knew that something wasn’t right about umama no sana lwakhe.
And he refused to ignore it.

Izolo, I had the privilege of leading a Youth Engagement session in Stellenbosch under the Theme. “Exploring pathways to Empower Youth through opportunities and Infrastructure”. One thing about me, I’m passionate about multi-stakeholder engagements that seek to address Mzansi challenges particularly youth unemployment, skills development & socioeconomic integration etc, to improve living conditions of our people. Yesterday, I had the honor of representing the CEO of the Council for the Built Environment at the launch of #South African Institute of Black Property Practitioners as they marked their 30-year milestone. We listened to an insightful keynote address delivered by Prof Bonang Mohale, followed by thought provoking panel discussion that reflected on transformation within South Africa’s property sector. And,as anyone who knows me would say Nosi never leaves the room without asking the important questions. So I asked; What are the plans of SAIBPP to ensure the socio-economic participation and inclusion of rural communities in the country’s property industry? #Transformation #Liberation.
This week football ⚽️ fans are celebrating this remarkable and a true pillar of South African 🇿🇦 Society. Dr Irvin Khoza fondly known as “Chairman” has dedicated his life to advancing our nation through social cohesion, through leadership and through his unwavering commitment to unity. Dr Khoza transformed the game of football into a source of national pride, professionalism and opportunity to young men from disadvantaged backgrounds. May he be honoured for his extraordinary contribution to our country. May his legacy (2010 FIFA) continue to inspire us all. Today, as I reflect on life and my journey, my heart turns to the incredible woman who has shaped so much of who I am my mother. Her journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, marked by hope, unshakeable strength and courage.
