Shot I did for @revelies film(I only did the rough animation) was a pretty cool shot to do, I got the idea to use my hand for the reference from the animator Mike Nguyen @mylittleworld.movie as they did a similar thing in an animation to catch the motion of a dear galloping

An Animation PV I worked on for @quantum.marmalade a graphic novel series a few months back. Had a blast creating it, I got to experiment with new animation and compositing techniques as I was given a lot of freedom.

2nd-year reel
I couldn’t showcase all my work as some of it is film and commission work that has not been released but I am happy with what I’m showcasing.
What I learned:
I learned what my limit is and how surpassing that can lead to massive growth but also lead to a lot of stress and is not good for my well-being. I decided to take up a lot of projects this college year and while it helped with my growth It also caused me to often feel overwhelmed which hindered other areas of my life. My opinion of working on personal projects is still the same as last year however I emphasise working on productions that are not your own as it’s a good way to learn what you like and don’t like about productions as well as the projects force you to change styles going outside your comfort zone.
Thoughts:
In contrast to last year, a lot of the work I did over the college year was for others and only a few animations were for myself. I personally think it was a good switch as I learned the difficulties and benefits of working as part of a production. I plan to work on a bigger project as the final year approaches so I’m hyped for that.
I did a lot of animating however I chose to condense the reel to 30 as my standard is always changing therefore I only want reels to showcase the best of my work, not just an accumulation of my work. I tried something new with my editing style which was quite fun.
Overall, solid year.

Short Film - One Last Bounce

Personal thoughts:
Very proud of what I achieved within the time period I had. There are some shots that could definitely use some more touching up however This is definitely a big step in the right direction for me. I made this film because It was part of my assignment but also to prove to myself that I can do more than just animation WIPS. I want to be able to do bigger and better things in the future that aren’t just limited to pencil test.
I’m not saying I want to be a film maker but just having that experience of making something from scratch all the way through to the finished result is such an eye opening experience for someone that usually just sticks to flat colour and rough pencil line
I was originally just gonna leave the film at the uncoloured clean line art stage but being introduced to so much talent in my class made me realize that I need to push myself further if I want to achieve certain things. The trailer of my friend @zhaunkie film Blue Light and everyone who worked on it was definitely a factor in this
I appreciate everyone who helped me in one way or another through advice and opinions, in particular @punkleos and @olaakii@lemon.plant for the colour and layout of some shots and @zhaunkie@kirbysmr for sound

Jujitsu kaisen, Fate series and chainsaw man were some huge inspirations for the art and animation direction.
