Looking for a fun summer activity that builds confidence, strength, and swimming skills? The North Perth Atwood Athletics Swim Team runs from June 29, 2026 to August 7, 2026!
Participants practice Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with swim meets every Saturday, leading up to finals on Friday, August 7th. Swimmers will work on strokes, starts, flip turns, breathing, endurance, and more.
Cost: $65

Road Work Notice - Surface Treatment Program
Road 158 - Line 84 to Line 75
The Municipality of North Perth will be completing asphalt surface treatments beginning next week as part of our preventative road maintenance program.
Please be advised that there will be loose stone on the roadway surface for a period of time following the work. This is normal and will gradually settle into the road surface over time with traffic. Motorists are asked to drive with caution, reduce speed, and allow extra stopping distance when travelling through these areas. Loose stone conditions may continue for up to three (3) weeks.
We appreciate your patience while this important preventative maintenance work is completed.
The municipal administration buildings will be closed on Monday, May 18, 2026. Staff will be available for service at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
The Elma Landfill will be closed on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, to observe the holiday.
Who can run for Municipal Council?
In general, candidates must be at least 18 years old, a Canadian citizen, and eligible to vote in the Municipality where they are seeking office.

The Council of the Municipality of North Perth met on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the North Perth Council Chambers (330 Wallace Ave N, Listowel) and livestreamed to YouTube.
Council Meeting Highlights – May 11, 2026
- Council recognized Mark Kennedy as one of the recipients of the 2025 Celebrate North Perth – Inspiration Awards.
- Council approved an agreement to provide temporary shared services for by-law enforcement with the Township of Perth South.
- Council approved continued participation in the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) curbside recycling collection program under the current service model.
- The definition of attainable in the North Perth Affordable and Attainable Housing CIP was updated, and the Arm’s Length Transaction definition was removed.
- Council authorized steps under the Expropriations Act to clarify municipal ownership of a property on George Street in Atwood, intended for future community or housing‑related use.
- Council approved the sale of surplus municipal land to Wightman Telecommunications to support network expansion and improved connectivity.
- Council adopted a new Traffic and Parking By-law, which will be submitted to the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of the Attorney General before coming into effect.
