Introducing… Belgian Modern House, our latest and greatest remodel and addition project! We are so thrilled to share that this home is featured in @dwellmagazine for the Before and After series. You can check out the story via the link in our bio. We are so excited to share more of this special project with you all. Swipe to see what the house looked like before!
The clients of our Lean On Me House came to us with a vision of their new home designed to work with nature. The site proved challenging with an extremely steep topography. We designed the house to work with the slope of the site in order to stay as close to grade as possible. This results in a stacked massing home that sits atop a hill overlooking the Barton Creek Habitat Preserve.

In celebration of Earth Day, let’s walk through the Lean On Me sustainable design features.
Large expanses of glass on the home are shaded by deep overhangs on the lower level, and a custom wood screen on the upper level, lowering solar heat gain and allowing the HVAC systems to work less hard to cool the home in summer. The home was also designed with many sustainable-ready options the clients could implement in the future. The roof of the second level was designed to easily implement rainwater harvesting in the future. The home was also wired to be solar-ready at initial construction, giving the clients the option to add solar panels down the road.
Since initial construction, both of these sustainable design options have been added to the home. If sustainable design interests you, but may not fit your budget at the time, there are always options we can implement to make your project future-resilient and a little friendlier to our planet. 🌎 🌍 🌏
We are thrilled to share that our Tree X Tree House has won @austin_home ‘s Best Use of Daylight/Fenestration for their 2026 Home and Design Awards! We are excited to be honored among such excellent company in the Austin design scene.

Moments from Casa Cuadro on film. Thank you @likeness_studio for capturing the way light moves through these spaces throughout the day.

The primary bedroom at our Lean On Me House faces west, overlooking the hill country beyond. Large expanses of custom windows frame beautiful views, but also bring in lots of light. After modeling and studying the daylighting patterns throughout the year, we developed this custom screen to help block some of the western sun while still providing views out over the hills.

Canopy Residence draws inspiration from the midcentury aesthetic, utilizing brick as a primary material, and separates the wall and roof through clerestory windows. The design provides high quality light throughout the interior spaces, and strong connections to the outdoor spaces. The public rooms of the home are organized around the pool courtyard, and spill out onto a large covered deck, featuring a deep canopy overhang providing privacy and shade. While in an urban setting, the architecture and landscaping make the neighbors fall to the background.
