This is « Urubu », result of my collaboration with @ala_prints during my stay in Ecuador and its a 17,5x25cm limited silkscreen print of 24 copies on 320gr Fabriano cotton rag DM
This is the result of a collab mural with @azharwiam ✨
I met Wiam at Jidar and we quickly clicked over patterns and slow processes.
A few days later, we were sitting at a café terrasse in Tiznit, transferring a file between our tablets, doodling over each other’s lines until this carpet began to emerge.
Many thanks to @lblend37 for welcoming us and for hosting this spontaneous project.
This last December, we spent a week together, shared a lot, including some of her words. Some of them stayed with me, and I wanted to mirror them.
I don’t know exactly what she meant, but it pulled something out of my gut.
The image came before the thought, raw and visceral. So I tried to capture it through textures.
She wrote, I drew, we shared.

First piece of four, an attempt to capture the journey from the darkest hour to the sunrise. In classical arabic, every hour of the day has a name and Sahar is the one right before the first glimpses of light, the one that is the darkest.
