I am so addicted to ballet right now, but this is a photo of Alicia Alonso coaching dancers of the National Ballet of Cuba some years ago...Mrs. Alonso observed a class I took in 2016/17? She was completely blind at that point and called out the class for not being expressive enough with our movement. It looks like she was doing the same here :)
I’m reading ths book, Bitter Water Opera by Nicolette Polek, Sophie gave it to me to read like a year ago. I thought it was a total work of fiction, but as it turns out one of the characters, Marta Becket Dancer/actor/painter, was very much a real person. Who opened up her own opera house in Death Valley Junction to perform the way she wanted to… awesome stuff…thank you Sophie, book is good too.
