.this is an incredibly difficult post to make💔 .one of the people closest to me has left the planet …i know some of yall are friends with “the JJ” and i was uncertain on how to communicate this sadness with everyone in his circle .if you knew this hilarious soul you are one of the lucky ones .i feel very fortunate to have spent so much time laughing with him .maybe you knew him as a Marine, Reverend Johnson, a photographer or just that guy in the corner of the coffee shop everyday ……if you scroll to the video you can hear his laugh!!!! (April2020 we were were supposed to stay home but we missed each other too much) .we had the deepest conversations and truly cared about each other …..we promised to speak at who ever went first’s funeral ……and even though it was one of the hardest things i’ve done in my life i fulfilled that promise to him .JJ loved me…..he told me this all the time……and i love him still .if you would light a candle for “the JJ” to help send his spirit on to the next destination i would be grateful .xoxo-norm4eva .PS-you never know what someone is going through silently so please be kind to your neighbors and strangers ❤️

………….since i’v been stuck hangin out recovering …. …i took time to work on a piece i have been thinkin about for yearz!! .i had this second hand sculpture sitting on a shelf in my old studio for so long while i pondered how to give it a new life …..there were some chips and scuffs on it so i repaired the surface then painted it this delicious deep red with shiny gold speckles .after i had a great base coat i added this pretty gold rose pattern …….i am soooo happy with the final piece .i left my normal black outline off since the gold turned out so fab!! ……THOUGHTS?? .a few weeks ago i got a call from my dear friend, the legend Robert Fishbone of @onthewallprod asking if i wanted to paint the sky on his new Riverfront mural for the @audubonsociety ……of course i said heck yes!!!…..lets make it happen!!! .i could have never imagined that call would lead to this magical collab …….after painting the sky i started on the birds and things progressed pretty seamlessly…… .Robert, Andy and i began overlapping ideas and working on the piece together as a team…..you can really feel the synergy happening .the ‘Lesser Yellowlegs’ needed a sacred space so Robert began creating the temple which became a special point of intrigue …..after giving Robert a quick spray paint tutorial………he picked it up very quickly .super impressed this was his first time using spray paint after painting murals for over fifty yrs .i am grateful for this opportunity to work together with a muralist i respect, appreciate and love ……we had a lot of laughs and a bunch of “ah ha!” 💡 moments …i can not forget to add the students of @principiacollege performed an interpretive dance during the unveiling that really added to the ambiance of the whole spectacle (……see photo 9) .every now and then you have pieces during your artistic journey that feel important to your personal evolution and this was one of them …i dont typically paint photo realism….not because i can’t…..but because it doesn’t feel like i am pushing the boundaries of my personal spiritual evolution which is a major goal with my work….but like i’ve said before …..…..this piece feels special! …..cheers to the first of more collabs as a team……im really looking forward to the next one!!! .love and gratitude to all who made this project a success!!!! …..thoughts??…..id luv to hear your insights 🪶 .thanks for viewing .xoxo -norm4eva . .. … …. #wip #publicart #mural #painting #streetarteverywhere #birds #birdfreaks #audubonsociety #temple #artoftheday #spraypaint #magic #love #norm4eva …..ps……special thanks to @mikematneyphotography for your photo contributions……that last pic makes me laugh every time i see it! 🤣
