Behind the scenes of one of my other jobs - custodian/caretaker/animal-wrangler/hair trimmer at Farm in the Woods @ftwfarms 🐐 No goats were harmed in the making of this post. Charlie just needed his winter coat sheered 🤷🏻♀️ Hoof trims are up next. Who’s helping?
A few summers ago I was asked to step in for hair and makeup on one of the beach scenes for The Ice Cream Man @ticmmovie A few scenes were filmed in Indiana, and I helped with one shot in Michigan City.
The Ice Cream Man is a short film based on the true story of Ernst Cahn, a Jewish ice cream parlor owner in Amsterdam whose life is upended during the Nazi occupation. The film traces how quickly ordinary life can fracture, following a series of events that escalate into something far more devastating beneath the surface.
My focus was to consistently follow the tone of the film by creating authentic period hair and makeup—soft, structured styles that felt true to the 1940s without looking overly styled. It was a chilly day and we were working against the wind and elements off Lake Michigan.
The film has been at screenings across the world and has educated those who don’t know the history of #ernstcahn . You can watch the full trailer at theicecreamman.movie
A few years ago I worked on this short film, Dark Mommy, with Director @courtneyeck .
Available on @pleaseleavepod
Dark Mommy is a short film about the quiet terror of something children see that adults don’t. Inspired by a chilling anecdote from an online thread—where a young child spoke casually about “when Dark Mommy comes to visit”—the story imagines what happens next, and what lingers after she leaves.
A lone 911 operator working the night shift has his reality shattered when children call for help after someone named Dark Mommy arrives to collect the adults in their tiny town.
Another Lollapalooza in the books. Always so proud of my guy for the incredibly hard work he makes look easy behind the scenes 🫶🏻 And great to hang with my niece and my chosen fam 🩵
🌟 Proof of Life 🌟 I know I don’t post on this page much, but I’m still here doing my best to enjoy this little life to the fullest! My good friend Ash @ashleysummersphotography snapped these pics of me at Nobu Hotel a few weeks ago when I dropped by to do makeup for one of her boudoir clients. I don’t generally love my headshots (I’ve avoided them for 10+ years!!) but these are a testament to how comfortable she makes her clients feel in front of the camera!! Hit her up for any portrait work you need done. And thanks Ash for snapping some impromptu photos of me that I don’t hate 😝 🖤
