The first time I visited Chile was to perform with Jessica 6. It was one of those places where I felt truly embraced, the kind that calls you back to explore the feeling. I eventually returned for two weeks and stayed six months. I couldnât have been further from New York, but as I found myself abandoned by a city and industry that didn't hold space for me, the people of Chile took me in and allowed me to build a career and a home in a place I never expected to belong.

I've been working on a project that has been ongoing for years now, telling my story through a memoir that unravels inherited trauma and the power of perception. Itâs become a deep exercise in âshadow workâ and is helping me grow and heal in ways I never thought possible. My hope is that when itâs time for it to be shared, it will provide the same space for healing others as it has for me.
