Tmrw night! Friday the 13! DJ bootytapes returns! Paulie Greene and I will be spinning records at Stamped Robin for their 8th anniversary party from 8 pm - 11 pm. Come have a fancy cocktail or a Strohs or an M and M on the rocks, that’s obviously what I will be drinking. We are in some dark times, as a country, as a world, and in the micro. People that know me, know what I’ve been going through, and have been grieving Gitis too. I had to say goodbye to my life partner, my band mate, my best friend, our home, our world for the past nine years. I know he’s still with us in his cosmic way, but the pain is constant. Music reminds me that throughout all of human history, no matter where, people have suffered great losses. It helps me feel less alone. It reminds me its ok to feel happy sometimes too. I’ve picked out a bunch of records that have helped me bring joy into the dark, so if you want to listen to some hilarious early 90’s house, garage norteno, italian prog, ive got the cyberpunk pre armageddeon world party on deck (PS I’ll be playing the Mighty Shadow for ol Bashful Baggs <3) 📸: @caseywar flyer by me

Last night I performed a traditional Armenian folk song in memory of the Armenian Gen0cide, 109 years ago. The song is called ‘Sareri Hovin Mernem’ (I’ll Die for the Wind of the Mountains). This is in memory of the 1.5 million Armenians that lost their lives, and the countless women and girls that were kidnapped and sold into slavery by the Turks. Also heavy on my mind is the ongoing gen0cide in Pa1estine, and the loss of Artsakh. I feel powerless, but maybe my song is a prayer, to the wind, to the mountains, to the river, to the sea Special shoutout to Turtle who helped me find the tunnel. 🇦🇲❤️‍🔥🇵🇸

TO THE GRID! I co-produced (and sang on some of) the new @gitisbaggsofficial record, Having The Same Dream, along with producer extraordinaire @the_lasso_ , and Gitis himself! Ian Gorman at @lalunarecordingandsound engineered and mixed, and was an integral part of the Brain Trust, helping to get this finished and out into the world. Carl Saff @carlsaff mastered! It would never have happened without @samuelsethbernard , who graciously organized the fundraising, played gnarly electric guitar, and produced the tracking sessions along with @dominicjohndavis (who is responsible for the immaculate bass)! The Noble @bbennnett was integral in accurately bringing the chord sheets to life and was bandleader for the 13-piece behemoth when we played the album at @earthworkhg . There are so many people to thank, all the musicians who performed on the album, took time out of their busy schedules to travel to and play the festival, and the complete credits are listed on the Brandcramp.
