It's taken me 22 long years, but this story is finally going to see the light. I've been in thrall of the Johnstown flood for so long. I can't wait to share what I've found with my readers - the heroism and heartbreak. The astonishing scale and manifold sorrows. But most of all, the love found in the wreckage after the waters receded. @regal_house_publishing

📚 We Love Booksellers — Episode Seven The series continues, this time with Sarah from Books Through Bars, a Philadelphia based organization getting books into the hands of incarcerated people. In this episode, Sarah talks about the heart behind the work and the real need for access to books, especially as resources inside prisons fall short. With the help of a huge volunteer network, Books Through Bars sends out thousands of books each year, reaching people who have no other way to access them. We’re so excited to share more about this incredible work and the people making it happen! Stay tuned as we keep highlighting amazing booksellers all around! ☺️ #philadelphia #philly #bookseller #booksthroughbars #community

Author Event!🌵✍️📚️🎸 We’re kicking off June by welcoming Eliza Knight in conversation with Nomi Eve, discussing the summer sensation, Lost in the Summer of ‘69. Join us for lively conversation and a following book signing... “Three generations of women, an unforgettable summer of music, and the epic cross-country road trip they’ll never forget. Summer, 1969: Eleanor Bell doesn’t have anything to lose. According to the doctors, she might not remember how to sing or play guitar soon, so why not head west now? Why not join the music festivals sweeping the country and lose herself in the music again, in a swan song of her own?” Tag a your best road-tripping book buddy and make a night of it! This event is free but please register in the link in bio. Can’t wait to see y’all there! 💖 🗓️ JUNE 10TH 🕖️ 7PM 📍Capricorn Books, 605 West Ave. Jenkintown

Starting off something new, introducing Friday Reads, inspired by @madelinemmartin ✨ This week I’m reading If We Were Villains by M. L. Rio—a dark academia story full of mystery and drama! I picked up my copy from the amazing Capricorn Books. What are you reading this week? 👀 #author #philadelphia #authorlife #drexel #fridayreads

This episode features Lisa, the woman behind it all. She shares what makes this store so important, how deeply rooted it is in the history of Latine and Latin American authors, and its special focus on BIPOC, queer, and women writers ❤️ We’re so excited to spotlight this special shop and the passion that brings it to life.
