2015 Kirchholz Blaufrankisch from Franz Weninger was supreme, supple yet structure, pure cherry and sandalwood, satiating beyond belief. 2017 Lightning Rock was ethereal and honed in, made me nostalgic for the good ol’ days before things got complicated over there. And the 2010 Sauternes Mark got me for my 26th Birthday (eight years ago) was in an ideal maturity window - dream pairing for blue cheese and foie gras.
Our friends are the best, my whisk(e)y hangover was real.
