Finally figured out what that sound in Insidious was. Letās break it down!
This is one of those āadd it to the toolbox for laterā discoveries. My attempt at it isā¦ letās call it a confident beginner attempt. Iāve been taking cello lessons for the last month, so Iām keeping expectations realistic. š
The samples I referenced were recorded by world class Hollywood musicians. When they sit down to record, itās their first time seeing the music, so Iāll gladly leave the real magic to them.
That being said, this was just going to be a quick story post, but it felt fun enough to turn it into a reel. āļø
Turned 35 this past weekend, and honestly I was so busy leading up to it that when the day came I desperately needed to catch up on sleep, mission accomplished lol.
What I really wanna celebrate though is having the opportunity to attend two big film festivals between September and October. TIFF and VIFF, what an experience. Iāve never even been to a film festival before until TIFF but I definitely need to make this an annual thing. Then, being invited and accepted into VIFF Amp, is just a whole other level of crazy. Iām happy I got to connect with so many artists in the music/film space. Next up, Cannes? š
Iām still missing it all so much. The panels, the conversations, late night hangs, film screenings, and everything in between. I actually feel like I didnāt take enough photos but I feel I made the most of each festival with everyone I met and every event I attended. Feeling inspired and motivated. Canāt wait to do it all again next year! See you there?! š

I took the Whisper Box out to the streets of Toronto to see what everyday people would think of it.
First, I showed them a photo to get their raw, unfiltered reaction ā then I played the full reveal video (the same one pinned on my feed). Some reactions were hilarious, others genuinely surprising.
