Always be ready- expectations were low as we hiked the 100 meters to the top of Skogafoss, planned to ridge soar for a few then land to continue driving south. After takeoff @tereza_hasenohrlova immediately found a thermal in front of the waterfall allowing us both to top out to low coastal cloudbase, then a "what if" decision to try to make the transition to the next ridge... then the next ridge continued for over 2 hours; not going fast but taking in the epic scenery and enjoying a very unique flight that few have likely enjoyed- eventually landing in Seljalandsfoss 38km later. These flights may not have big numbers but are incredibly unique, beautiful, technical and an exploration of seldom flown terrain in a world that feels very explored.

Excellent flying conditions at Esja today just outside of Reykjavik, flying with hundreds of birds on huge cliffs with dramatic scenery from sea to city to mountains. After a lunch break more flying at Hafrafell to close out the day.

Iceland may not get a lot of full on XC days per year but we scored one today for my first flying day here, playing at cloud-base and trying to stay warm w/ @tereza_hasenohrlova and Hans. Tried to get some videos in the mountains but my insta360 would not work in the 0 degree temperatures ๐Ÿ˜… Buying heated gloves- totally worth it

One more North American flight.... Ended up being a great night at the Northside, getting nice and high and pushing north a bit, then dragging butt and wing tips on the upper ridge and some top landing practice on my @novaparagliders Codex from @superflypg

Wrapping up the Salt Lake shoulder season layover... With some much needed snow today

The last few weeks after the close of the epic Colombia season has been a journey from Austin, Texas to Salt Lake City to pick up my new rig (after 1.5 years on the road I was ready for a little more room), back to California to sell my old one and repack for the next adventure while visiting friends and family and handling stateside business along the way. Was a very busy time, but I am on the road again heading east towards the next adventure- a quick pit stop in South Lake Tahoe today for tattoo work, to some Hot Springs in Nevada for a few days to unwind, recharge and re-organize, then off to Salt Lake City for a few weeks before I head to Europe for the season for the next chapter. The open road has been filled with adventures, new friends, and new explorations. Into the sunrise I go! ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿช‚๐Ÿ—ป

What an epic end to a legendary Colombia season. What a journey it has been full of new friends, so many clouds and many 100km flights... Thank you to all that made it so special. Can't wait for next year and many adventures in between ๐Ÿ˜

Absolute legendary day, wasnโ€™t even supposed to fly, but got a last-minute chance and sent it for a very unexpected 72km triangle, which did not look possible with the conditions, unlocking some new terrain Iโ€™ve never gotten to fly before โœŠ

You canโ€™t always get the flight you wanted, but you can get the hike you needed ๐Ÿ™Œ After years of flying over this area, I finally landed out in it, and it was more beautiful than I ever expected
