We had the loveliest surprise this morning — a Thai Buddhist monk passed by our window, so we invited him in.
He had spent the past two years wandering across countries on pilgrimage, and today found himself passing through Macclesfield — having walked all the way from Manchester Airport, on his journey to London. A true nomad.
He carries no money, but we were honoured to fill his alms bowl with plenty of food and drink for the road, in the spirit of the Thai tradition of Tak Bat — the quiet, daily act of giving that allows others to make merit and support the monks.
We shared a long, wholesome conversation, received a blessing, and then said our goodbyes. A passerby captured the moment.
A beautiful reminder of our time living in Thailand… and of how special chance encounters can be. 😌

We can’t quite believe it’s been two years already.
While we’ve always preferred to keep things low-key, we wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank every single person who walks through our doors—day in, day out. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or have only recently discovered us, your support means everything.
Over the past two years, we’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many incredible people—many of whom we’re lucky enough to now call friends. Being part of such a welcoming and supportive community is something we’re truly grateful for. Simply put, we wouldn’t be here without you.
Opening on Buxton Road was a leap of faith, and thanks to your continued support, it’s been more rewarding than we ever imagined. So, from all of us—thank you.

As 2025 draws to a close, we wanted to take the opportunity to reflect and to thank every single one of you who has come through our door and made our second year on Buxton Road a really special one.
To see you guys come in, spark up conversations with strangers, and leave having made new connections and friends, is the greatest feeling in the world and is a fundamental part of the concept Nomad was founded on. To be a genuinely warm, welcoming and inclusive space for everyone to enjoy.
To all the friends made both old and new, the love you give us, we return it back to you X10 fold, for allowing us to do what we do and to continue evolving and growing as a business, we do it all for you and wouldn’t exist without you. You truly are the nomad’s who make Nomad what it is and none of it is taken for granted.
We have so many exciting things planned for our third year at Nomad and look foward to sharing them with you soon.
