I always see makers introduce themselves every so often. I haven’t done that much on here. I think because the truth of it all is- I don’t know really who I am yet.

I don’t know how to describe my life. It’s been a lot to process and it still is every day. I feel very blessed to have found my craft when I was early on in my life- I first learned pottery in high school. Then I continued my love and pursuit of the art on the side while my family encouraged me to have a traditional career.
.
I moved frequently. Starting in childhood- and on through my life. It made me have a difficult time making friendships and trusting people I suppose. Because I’m still out here at 40 struggling to reach out to people, struggling to find my place in the world.
.
What I feel confident about is my ability to carry myself with independence. A trait I attribute to my lone wolf daddy. My creative endeavors have helped me through every aspect of my life. And being able to create pottery as my “traditional career” now is something that I believe saves my life. I’m able to hold my favorite art form close to me and my daily practice.
.
The past 5 years have been the greatest gift to myself and also the greatest challenge. I became a mother. My children are the light of my life. Im focused on doing my best with how I raise them- making sure to nurture and enrich the things that they find the most joy in. Because Finding joy in your life is instrumental.
.
Anyways I’m doing my best to keep doing my pottery but I am also admittedly one of the worst self advocates and business personnel out here. Trying to navigate it all with my only real skills being in clay.

I would also love to share how grateful I am for you all as I stumble around on earth like this, thankful for a silly little app that helps me connect with so many incredible people that I imagine I wouldn’t know otherwise. So that’s really what I got to say for today.
