A video circulating online shows Nollywood star Bimbo Ademoye confronting a group of street boys who reportedly interrupted her outdoor film shoot to ask for βsettlement.β
The clip, posted on Thursday by a social media user, captured the actress boldly addressing the men after they requested payment for filming in the area. Demands like this are often made to production crews working in some public locations across Lagos.
Bimbo, who appeared upset, said she was not against giving support when necessary, but she would not accept being intimidated or forced to pay.
βIβm a street girl. Ask around. I know how street matters work and I can settle boys when needed. But you canβt come to me and start demanding a fixed amount,β she said.
When one of the men insisted he was not begging, she replied that asking for money in that manner was still begging.
The exchange became more heated after one of them threatened to turn off her camera, and Bimbo responded by mocking the threat and defending her equipment.
