What was a pretty normal $10 bouquet from the grocery store 4 days ago, surprised me tonight.

Finally was permitted entry to inspect and retrieve the remains of my gear from the devastation in Red Hook following the 5-alarm warehouse fire that destroyed so many artist’s work, art, and livelihoods. Tears for them, truly. Ugh. Oof. … … …silence… … … Luckily no deaths and only 2 injuries to out of over 250 firefighters battling the flames for days. My gear did not burn, but water is no friend to electronic music gear, some nearly 50 years old. But things are only things; music is in the heart, and I am grateful every day for the wonderful people in my life and those courageous people all over world who are positive forces. Moments like this remind me how lucky I am. I save true love for people. This post is for the record of the end of this micro-chapter in my musical experience to be continued. Special special thanks to Francis Garcia who made space for my brief but soul sustaining moments of musical ecstasy in his beautiful studio and place of work where he supports his family. Getting him back online along with everybody else in this sad event who lost far more than just things is what is important.
