Cy Twombly once said “My line is childlike but not childish. It is very difficult to fake… to get that quality you need to project yourself into the child’s line.” In works like Twombly’s, Antoni Tapies or Brice Marden - drawing becomes painting and painting becomes drawing. What fascinates me is the weaving of the 2: how to construct a surface from immediate, intuitive marks? how to use drawing as painterly gesture rather than a planning tool? how to become a child again in Twombly’s words! ©2026 Mikha M. This new work sits between material and memory. Since i’m living abroad, I’m always thinking about what stayed with me and what have faded. I’m drawn to that space between presence and absence, between what’s tangible and what’s only felt. Through layering, covering, and erasing, I tried to make that feeling of longing visible — a way to touch what’s no longer here, but still lingering around. © 2026 Mikha M. In this series, I explore the passage of time through photography, gradually increasing the shutter speed with each image. As the exposure lengthens, I fade from view—absent, yet still present. I wanted to examine my personal experience of Time Blindness, a perception of time that is often distorted. By extending the shutter speed, I was able to connect with time in a more tangible way, sensing moments stretch between the frames. As a response to my invisibility, time became strongly visible. —— Time Based Performance © 2026 | Mikha M. #performance #art #contemporary #time #abstracted

Walk the streets of Beirut and you’ll notice buildings that still carry the scars of war. Broken windows, shattered doors, and bullet holes whisper silent stories. My intervention, The Future Lies Behind Closed Doors, reclaims these wounds through acts of temporary repair. Broken openings are covered with soft yellow blankets — fragile, domestic gestures that suggest warmth, care, and protection. The yellow fabric becomes both a shroud and a promise: a covering that hides destruction, yet also invites reflection on what lies beyond it — the possibility of healing, memory, and the fragile hope for a future rebuilt from what remains. - (All works are artist renders with the aid of AI tools) Images belong to their respective owners. #contemparyart #beirut #publicart #installation #intervention
