Being sick for the entire October made me late for this update but Wade healed up amazing. He’s fully adjusted to his one eye life, back to playing, cuddling, climbing the cat tree, and stealing food from his sister. @fuzzytattoo and I are so thankful to everyone who helped in support and sharing your kindness with our sweet boy. He’s literally the sweetest little guy out there and we are so happy to have many more years with him giving us love and annoying us every chance he gets. We would not have it any other way.

We said goodbye to Wade yesterday. He doesn’t have to feel pain anymore but we’ll carry the pain of the emptiness of not having him here with us forever. We started to notice a change in Wade back in August. A change in his voice but the blood test and a few other tests looked great and showed he was a healthy cat. In November, I got a second full time job besides running No Hooks Given. November was chaos, I got into a car accident, working 36-38 hours a week at my new job, orders, and preparing for 4 weeks of back to back shows. We noticed that now Wade has prominent wheezing, eating half to 3/4 of his food consistently, coughing, and sneezing has become a regular thing. Hoping for some ease to chaos, we brought Wade back to the vet in the very beginning of December because new symptoms have appeared. This time we did an ultrasound of his stomach and X-rays of his chest and lungs but again everything looked fine, perfect actually. He was given a food stimulant which helped his hunger. We now were referred to a specialist and the appointment was December 24th. In that time, his downward spiral reached new levels. He started choking on his food so we switched him just wet food, the appetite stimulant was working half the time. The appointment is now here, they found a tumor in his throat that is pushing on it, causing him difficultly to breathe and eat. They said it was cancer. The 27th, he can’t eat anymore without choking at all. Monday the 29th, we made to appointment to say goodby on Friday. In that time, he stopped eating, drinking water, and only wanted to cuddle us. If you knew Wade, he loved food so much. 4 things he loved in order were, food, sunshine, blanket, cuddles. We didn’t get to spoil him with food and do a little bucket list. We only got to hold him which is the only thing that brought him comfort in the end. Our house and hearts are empty without him here. Thank you for loving us, for being in our lives, and for being the best boy. You came into our life by force, caused mayhem, and we loved every second of it. These 10 years were so joyous because of you. We love you Wade so much.
