It all started when my grandma showed me the stars for the first time, when I was three. The Georgian word for star is varskvlavi, but I couldn’t pronounce it back then — I called them vatskalebi.
From that moment on, stars became our secret symbol. We had a plant we named “star,” though it looked nothing like one. Every time I wrote her a letter, I would include a bit of that grass inside as a small gift.
What if stars held a kind of power we haven’t discovered yet? Something beyond this world, something that doesn’t follow our rules. What if the universe had loopholes — strange, silly ones — like a game, where I could make up the rules myself?
If you ever managed to count all the stars, the world would end. We found that loophole — a tiny rule that let us control the universe, and gave us permission to wander freely inside the idea.
