ASSEMBLAGE / Matta Clark’s work was a pure expression of assemblage in multiple forms, from his collaborative projects with other artists,
to the team of people/friends who assisted in making his building cuts. The process of writing, drawing, cutting, filming, and photographing is all agents in the bricolage. The multiple mediums which were used to express his ideas and concepts. Each cut organized voids and volumes with solid planes that layered the site lines re-assembling the architeure , the circulation.
By disorienting, deconstructing, the floors, the ceilings, and the walls - removing and revealing he created a new language .
