The DMC Lite Shield! Dragonframe recently released a great new DIY solution for motion control that runs on the Arduino Giga. Installing the sketch is easy enough but getting those step and direction signals to motor drivers is a different story. This shield takes the 3.3v signals from the Arduino, buffers and reenforces them into solid 5v that most drivers can work with. Plus an optically isolated e-stop circuit and 2.5mm camera meter and shutter output. Let me know you if you are interested at

I love building downshooters because I love shooting on them! It's so simple shooting on them gravity is not a factor. After a day of working on super high tech, high pressure shots with moving cameras and tons of rigging, it's so much fun just to kick back and push clay around. This one is small enough to fit in any garage or room. And simple enough to use that my kids even shoot on it.

Our custom designed pan and tilt camera head. Built from mostly folded metal and common rotators, this head can be built quickly and affordably. If you need one or a hundred, we can build them.

What's a stop motion deck without a stop motion monopod?? These were custom built by SAVY. I think they did a great job! The monopod comes apart but is still sturdy once put together. I removed the originally designed top plate and mounted the geared head directly to the post. If you'd like, you can remove the post and clamp it to the grid to be used as a downshooter.

Aluminum grid built and first curtains hung! I went with the industry standard @rosebrandinc drapes that you'll find in any professional stop motion studio. My goal was to give the students a chance to familiarize themselves with industry standard equipment and materials. So when they land their first gig at a pro studio, they'll have that must less novelty to deal with, allowing them to start doing good work right away!

Stop Motion Animation Lab for PSU! This year's project was designing and building 4 stop motion test units for the students of Film at Portland State University. We were given an empty room to design around and came up with these plans. The units are small but big enough to fit a deck, monopod and capture station.
