heart-written (2025) heart-written is an interactive audio-visual installation that transforms poetry into immersive soundscapes. Inspired by the nostalgic allure of a musical box, the work reimagines poetic expression by converting the rhythm and emotion of diverse texts into sound through a custom-designed digital synthesizer. Audiences are invited to engage with a curated collection of poems written by Hengameh Akbarnezhad and explore the dynamic relationship between tactile control and sonic creation. A dedicated visualizer, complete with English translations, ensures that each visitor can experience the layered meanings and textures of the poetry, forging personal connections with the work. This exhibition expands on previous explorations, celebrating multilingual voices and the interplay of literature, music, and technology. Ultimately, it aims to reflect upon digitization of emotions, and how sound as the main design material shapes an experience. Jamais‬‭ Vu‬‭ (2024) is‬‭ an‬‭ immersive‬‭ synaesthetic‬‭ installation‬‭ that‬‭ transforms‬‭ a‬ gallery‬‭ space‬‭ into‬‭ a‬‭ dynamic‬‭ multisensory‬‭ environment.‬‭ Our‬‭ project‬ takes‬‭ its‬‭ name‬‭ “Jamais‬‭ Vu” from‬‭ the‬‭ phenomenon‬‭ of‬‭ experiencing‬ unfamiliarity‬‭ when‬‭ encountering‬‭ something‬‭ that‬‭ should‬‭ be‬‭ familiar.‬ ‭ The‬‭ project‬‭ seeks‬‭ to‬‭ disrupt‬‭ habitual‬‭ familiarity‬‭ with‬‭ our‬‭ increasingly‬ highly‬‭ digitized‬‭ world,‬‭ in‬‭ which‬‭ more‬‭ and‬‭ more‬‭ aspects‬‭ of‬‭ our‬‭ lives‬‭ are‬ being‬‭ tracked,‬‭ measured,‬‭ and‬‭ converted‬‭ into‬‭ data,‬‭ reducing‬‭ people‬‭ from‬ complex‬‭ individuals‬‭ into‬‭ quantifiable‬‭ units‬‭ of‬‭ information.‬‭ We‬‭ aimed‬‭ to‬ evoke‬‭ this‬‭ sensation‬‭ by‬‭ creating‬‭ a‬ (syn)aesthetic‬‭ installation‬‭ featuring‬‭ a‬ soundscape‬‭ composed‬‭ of‬‭ crowdsourced‬‭ audio‬‭ samples‬‭ from‬‭ across‬‭ the‬ city‬‭ of‬‭ Montreal.‬‭ This‬‭ defamiliarization‬‭ may‬‭ prompt‬‭ an‬‭ understanding‬ of‬‭ how‬‭ the‬‭ present‬‭ actively‬‭ intrudes‬‭ upon,‬‭ reshapes,‬‭ and‬‭ haunts‬‭ our‬ possible imaginations of the future.‬ All of our data is crowdsourced and contributed by the community. Altérité (2024) is an interactive installation based on recognizing others in their difference. It offers an experiential approach to human life in wheelchair. The space used and the context promote the deconstruction of stereotypes and standard places used by the person in a wheelchair. The work reaches Diversité Capacitaire audiences thanks to audio description, haptic feedback, immersive sound, and sign language interpretation integrated into the interactive installation. Deconstructed Selfies: Regenerated (2024) Exhibited at @mutekmontreal as part of @milieux_institute ‘s GenAI lab, this edition of my Deconstruced Selfies series invites the audience to interact with a Machine Learning model to deconstruct their facial identites and reflect on the ever digitization of what self is in an age of digital algorithms. This project was done thanks to the generous support of the GenAI lab and also the Wilding AI team for hosting us at the forum. “In the Shadow of the Lens” (2023-2024) is an experimental exploration of the evolving dynamic between humans and technology. In this project, the creators delve into the complexities of technophobia and the intricate dance of communication with the inanimate, embodied by the enigmatic form of a monolith. The monolith’s ultimate transcendence is its symbolic legacy to become an instrument of creation. Through this project, the creators navigate the delicate balance between fear and fascination that technology inspires, inviting viewers to reconsider the role of machines in their lives and in the broader tapestry of human experience.

Deconstructed Selfies (2023-) audio/visual piece I’ve been extremely honoured to have the opportunity to exhibit my work in the past year in two different exhibitions. Letting this piece exist in different environments and converse with people has been the most joyful experience so far.
