Are you a trans person in Europe currently waiting for gender-affirming care? I’m looking for people who would like to share their story in my documentary The Waiting List. My name is Noah, I’m a filmmaker from the Netherlands and I’m currently working on The Waiting List: a self-filmed documentary following trans Europeans navigating the wait for gender-affirming care and/or a legal name or gender change. After being on the waiting list myself, I want to share the stories of other trans people who are currently also waiting. This period in a trans person’s life is rarely talked about. We often hear numbers — like “the waiting list is 4+ years” — but behind those numbers are real people. With this film, I want to show the every lives of trans people that are waiting for the rest of their lives to begin. If you’re currently waiting and feel you would like to share your experience, I’d love to hear from you. You don’t need any filming experience — the documentary is a self-filmed documentary so you will be filming and we will come to visit you and film other parts. Fundraising campaign is out now! Aria is a short film about girlhood, cultural in-betweenness, and the fragile gravity of mother–daughter love.
