"By time, verily man is in a state of great loss"
We are in a constant state of loss in regards to time. The 'Watch' that we never get to actually see in JUNGLE was meant as a representation of time itself. A thing so valuable, so sought after, and yet a thing we never get to physically see. The watch being taken from Aimer at his dying moment, signified his 'time' was up. Subsequently, the watch being passed from hand to hand demonstrated time is never owned, only borrowed.
