No Fooling’s “That’s That” doesn’t miss a beat picking up right where the demo left off. Their vein of melodic hardcore (some might say verging on the heavier side of pop punk or even the faster side of emo) hints at the past while looking to the future in both song writing and reflection.
Drums beating faster and faster, feeling like they can’t slow down, until the band stops on a dime and breaks into a melodic sing-a-long. Their self proclaimed trampoline-core EP is eight quick tracks that will have you shouting along and wanting to stage dive on the second listen.

It’s hard to believe I met this crew over a year ago & in that time we’ve worked on two releases together. Channeling a sound that has a home in punk, emo, and hardcore alike No Fooling brings to mind ghosts of the past & future with their melodic hardcore (trampoline core if you must).
The release show for their second album “That’s That” is tomorrow (Friday April 10th) at @trans.pecos .

Northeast Ohio’s braininavat released their debut EP last year on @_tomb_tree_ and it’s one of those album that we keep going back too. Riding that thin but beautiful line between melodic screamo and angular post-hardcore.
Joining our Ohio friends are New Jersey’s twinkly emo screamo favs @glenvinestagram (formerly known as Teen Dating Violence) - These kids can play just about every style (you know them from countless other bands) but Glen Vine always steal our hearts.
NYC’s @no__fooling make fast melodic hardcore (trampoline core if you prefer) that brings to mind bands like RVIVR & Lifetime while peppering in some egg and chain vibes. Come support the release of their second killer EP on C86’d!
Opening up the show are Yonkers Hardcore favorites @burdenofchris (feat. mem of Grimlitter)! Their mosh driven hardcore will surely open up the pit to start the night!

C86’d DIY Vol 11 & 12: Back to back dates with the RVA crew!
Our next two shows are in support of @hynokirva and @formetofeellessalone ’s east coast run.
These two bands are the off-shoots of the now defunct Skipper who we were so happy to help release a tape for earlier this year. These new projects offer the same quality tunes we knew from Skipper, with each refining those core elements and expanding into two new and unique bands. On 10/23, in NYC, the touring bands will joined by our dear friends @Redsismean , with a brand new album full of their politically focused hardcore.
Finally making their debut is NYC’s newest melodic hardcore band @no__fooling . We’ve been (im?)patiently waiting to finally hear them live!
Rounding out the lineup are @hasadaforenvy with their blend of melodic metalcore and brutal death.
On 10/24, in New Jersey (last slide), the touring bands will joined by now local mainstays @pierrotlunairenj and @ariadnesthreadnj . We were wowed by Perriot Lunaire at our last show in Brooklyn and are looking forward to what this group has in store! And the fast chaotic destruction that is Ariadne’s Thread already has us very excited for this show!

As the hot days of spring and summer start to stamp out the cold days of winter times, scenes of a less divided time start to come to mind. When seeing a chaotic screamo act right along side amazing melodic hardcore and punk was a usual affair. At the start of C86’d, we hoped to merge the adjacent scenes of punk and hardcore with the vibrant screamo scene we saw erupting. Now, with the release of NYC’s No Fooling, we are attempting to do that with our physical output as well.
No Fooling’s melodic hardcore rides a fine line that bridges the gap between fast hardcore and pop punk - vibes we haven’t felt for what seems like a lifetime. Complex songwriting, singalong choruses, at times blistering speed, and even chain punk grunts here or there all wrapped up in a blast of melodic intensity. No Fooling cover a lot of ground in just under thirteen minutes & it makes you want to eke out every last bit of sun from the day. A release that’s been on repeat on our speakers since its January release & we are so happy to have the physical release come out as C86’d # 05.
