We’re proud to introduce Griff Mono, the debut commercial typeface by Benjamin Rouzaud — now available at Sudtipos. — Calligraphic bite meets monospaced precision. Griff mono is a typeface based on a calligraphic construction and rationalised on the monospaced grid. It can express itself with contrast in two distinct styles. One is the spiky, punchy and definitely assertive Regular. The other is the bolder, louder and unapologetically more direct Heavy. Armed with stinging curves, like sharp claws, its appetite for the page brings a ferocious energy to any layout. Crisp and clear at the smallest sizes, its rhythm truly emphasises reading clarity. «Skeed» is a typeface that, as its name suggests, marks a turning point from an analog calligraphic practice to a digital exploration of type design. Before Type and Media started, for the past three years, I have dedicated a large part of my time to write by any means, no matter what, no matter where, no matter the tool. Anything is a good excuse to come up with something that looks like letters. During this final project, the main question focused on how to keep the sensitivity of the analog shapes in a digital type system ? All along the process, interresting shapes appear to question the boundaries between a script and an italic typeface. This typeface is variable italic that became calmer in its expressivity in favor to legibility for subtitle sizes (around 20-24pt). Harmonious and sensitive in its design, it will make any type of content elegant and impactful. — Benjamin Rouzaud is a multidisciplinary French designer and artist specializing in typography and calligraphy. After studying type and graphic design at école Duperré and école Estienne in Paris, he worked as an independent designer while developing his artistic practice. Today, he devotes himself tirelessly to the expressiveness of writing through analogue and digital media. #tm2324

Riso printing on A3 white papers by @chezrosi , available at the the exhibition ! Topic : Join us from the 22nd to the 25th of June at the Fondations312 for CAVE, an exhibition that gathers 12 artists around the theme of the cave. The works that will be shown explore these indoor spaces and their associations since the prehistoric caverns up until today’s urban spaces. The 500m2 exhibition will be dimly lit and its exploration will be aided by phone flashlights.

Topic: Join us from the 22nd to the 25th of June at the Fondations312 for CAVE, an exhibition that gathers 12 artists around the theme of the cave. The works that will be shown explore these indoor spaces and their associations since the prehistoric caverns up until today’s urban spaces. De werken die getoond worden, verkennen deze binnenruimtes en hun associaties, vanaf de prehistorische grotten tot aan de stedelijke ruimtes van vandaag.
