That’s a wrap for the 63rd Senate! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication over the past semester. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Congratulations to the 64th Senate and to our new Student Senate President, Jose Villarreal, a former member! We can’t wait to see all that you will accomplish. We would also like to extend our congratulations to former Vice President Hassan Hashmi on becoming the Student Liaison to the District Board. It was an honor to be Vice President of Public Relations, Nevaeh Jackson-Winters, signing out.

Day two of WSG was a success! The governor Ever visited, along with many incredible guest speakers. Our senators also practiced for tomorrow’s big day, where we’ll be speaking with the legislature about supporting Wisconsin’s community colleges. Huge shoutout to @thatfinancekai for reaching out to the governor and for all his hard work as our Student Body President for Madison College Senate and President of Wisconsin Student Government (WSG). Wish our senators good luck—they’ve been putting in a lot of effort!

The Student Senate members recently took a trip to Chula Vista, where we had a chance to relax, reflect on our progress for the year, and discuss ways to improve moving forward. It was a productive and fun trip, with everyone contributing great ideas. We’re feeling confident and prepare for next semester already! šŸ˜ŠšŸ’™ We hope everyone has a restful and enjoyable winter break!

Did you know that early voting at Madison College opened TODAY?… šŸ—³ļø Two of our officers, Treasurer Kai Brito and Secretary Nevaeh Jackson-Winters hit the poles this morning and checked blue down all the way! šŸ’™ Jackson-Winters says that they voted for Harris Walz because they care about our eduction system, unlike Trump Vance. Jackson-Winters had an IEP throughout high school which helped them succeed, and they want that opportunity to be available to other students in the future! Having the extra support of an IEP led Jackson-Winters to better manage their ADHD and anxiety throughout school. Brito says that he voted for Harris Walz because of their empathy and morals. Brito said, ā€œFor me, it really comes down to common decency. Which candidate is going to act like a decent human being, and inspire fellow Americans to be better and take our nation into the future? The answer is indisputable: Vice President Kamala Harris. I’m sure that there’s policy that you might disagree with for Kamala, but there’s a reason that a number of Republicans are switching sides and not only voting for Kamala, but they are even endorsing her. Kamala might not have the perfect answer to everything, but I trust her to make the right decision once she is leading the nation. We can’t lose sight of the good in pursuit of the perfect. In order to make something better we have to choose good, moral characters like Kamala Harris and Tim Walz to bring our divided country together again.ā€ You can early vote this week just like these two officers! The poles are open at Truax from October 28th to November 1st, 11:00-3:30. At Goodman South they’re open at the same dates and times. For more Madison polling locations, check out cityofmadison.com! Register to vote TODAY online at myvote.wi.gov! šŸ—³ļø Find out where you can EARLY VOTE at myvote.wi.gov/Vote-Absentee-In-Person! šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø Follow our WolfPack Connect page for more updates! 🐺
