This Saturday, GRAMMY® Award-winning baritone Nmon Ford is joined by Pomona College faculty members Gayle Blankenburg, piano, and Eric Lindholm, cello, along with guest artist Robert Wang, guitar, in a program of music by Claude Debussy, Ian Krouse, Josephine Lang, Franz Liszt, and others. Panamanian-American baritone Nmon Ford is a celebrated opera singer, composer, and librettist. He has appeared with companies including the San Francisco Opera, Teatro Sociale di Rovigo, Utah Opera, Portland Opera, and Opera Memphis. Ford has enjoyed success in increasingly challenging and dramatic repertoire, most recently appearing as Le Spectre in Thomas’ Hamlet with Cincinnati Symphony, before which he debuted the role of Sharpless in a new production of Madama Butterfly at Cincinnati Opera and Detroit Opera, Jesus in Bach’s St. Matthew Passion under the baton of Nathalie Stutzmann, and Haydn’s Creation with the Ft. Worth Symphony. Admission is free @ Bridges Hall of Music on Saturday, September 20th at 7:30pm 💚

For anybody affected by the Eaton fires (Pasadena/Alta Dena areas), Pasadena Foursquare Church @pasadenafoursquare has a day shelter with water, food, diapers, household items, toiletries, clothes and shoes (new, nice stuff...not throwaways), WiFi and charging stations, on-site prayer, and loads of other useful items and services (description copied below). I've seen the setup myself, and it's fantastic. If you need help or resources, please hit them up or just stop by during their open hours. 📱 We have free Wi-Fi and a place to charge your devices. Feel free to come by for a few minutes or to stay all day. 🛒 Our weekly food distribution is happening 10 AM to 11 AM in our north parking lot. If you need grocery items, please stop by at that time! 📆 We have updated hours next week! Our day shelter will be open from 1 PM to 7 PM Monday through Wednesday and Friday; 12 PM to 6 PM Thursday only. 📦 We have an updated donation list! We are ONLY accepting the following items: duffle bags + small suitcases, laundry detergent, air purifiers, *new* pillows, *new* pacifiers, and toiletry items. Toiletry items include deodorant, bar soap, body wash, lip balm, toothbrushes, toothpaste, baby body wash, razors, shaving cream, lotion, and mouthwash. 🎨 Your mental health matters! We will have a space to rest and create during the day. A time of guided art & creation will begin at noon. 👕Come get what you need (or pick up for someone else). We have an abundance of free clothing, shoes, bedding, toiletries, hygiene items, water, non-perishable food items, snacks, paper goods, etc. 🙏 We have pastors and chaplains on site if you need prayer or someone to talk to. If you have other needs, please reach out. We want to be a support however we can! Feel free to SHARE this with anyone who needs it.
