At the beginning of the month we gathered together to celebrate the second pilot year of the Rooted Relative Fund at the Resilience Hub in Albuquerque, NM. We took time to honor our collective accomplishments, reflect on key learnings, and step into the promise of what Year 3 is already shaping up to be. The Rooted Relative Fund (RRF) is a relationship-based lending initiative offering up to $250,000 for established Indigenous businesses — moving beyond the traditional 5C's of credit to center community, reciprocity, and self-determination. 🌱
None of this is possible without our Community Lending Catalysts (CLCs), our incredible Indigenous entrepreneurs, and our continued partnership with Rural Community Assistance Corporation. This gathering was a reminder of why we do this work and emphasized that trust and deep relationships are the infrastructure. Lending rooted in reciprocity and good relation creates a ripple effect that reaches far beyond any single loan or business but flows to community.
We are energized, we are grateful, and we are just getting started. The continued growth of the Indigenous entrepreneurship ecosystem and community wealth is not just possible, it is happening, right now, in real time.
Here’s to Year 3! Skoden! 🌱✨🤎
