Red Dress Day is the National Day of remembrance and activism honouring the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirited People (MMIWG2S+). NLSD stands with survivors, families, and those we have lost. The Calls to Justice implore educational institutions and authorities to educate and provide awareness on MMIWG2S+. We are committed to supporting our teachers with Indigenizing the curriculum to ensure students are learning about the impact of colonialism, including historical and current truths, and the root causes of violence in communities. Everyday students should feel empowered to move forward on Reconciliation in their schools and communities.
