Paris: At the Bourse de Commerce today, in the Victor Man exhibition (very good). They’ve darkened the gallery windows with a solar control film, which makes the sunny spring exterior look almost moonlit. Rather beautiful.
But when taking a photo, it was as if the camera were infrared‑sensitive — surprising, and beautiful in a different way again.
‘From Mills Plains’ (2026)
Drawing from John Glover’s A corroboree of natives in Mills Plains, this painting fragments and re‑forms the landscape through abstraction, pattern, and colour. Histories echo without settling as images migrate, fracture, and realign—reflecting my experience as a migrant in Tasmania, attentive to deep time, continual change, and what is still forming.
Oil paint & lacquer on aluminium, 122 × 110 cm
