I’m a Bedrotting connoisseur. It can be fun sometimes - to just sit back and relax, but it can also feel separating. Constantly surfing the web on your phone, trying to stay buoyant on top of the deep sea, while searching hard enough to find meaning — to sink more, to look inside, go deeper and deeper. So many paths to choose, so many forks in the road. I wonder if you’ll ever make it out alive, or float idle - dead on the surface.

This was my VERY FIRST gouache painting believe it or not. I had to test so many things out because of my first attempt. I had to make a couple of smaller paintings just to see how everything could come together. I also haven’t done any big paintings this year so I’m proud of that(I like working small🥲). This piece meant a lot to me so I had to get it done right, even though I almost messed up the whole thing, but that’s a different story.

“Suds” 9x12 Watercolor on paper.
Took a couple of pics.
“There are a lot of pain in those tears. I can see them. I can see them as they float away, upwardly? How are they lighter than they appear? But they seem so heavy and burdensome - taunting even, laughing back at you? Do those tears truly float away or will the suds linger?”
Pretty proud of this one. I thought I was going to be ready with this a lot sooner, but I just kept coming back to it wanting to change something. Sometimes I gotta not overwork it and just let it be. Hence I didn’t even do black ink which is unlike my usual process, but still pretty happy about.

Happy late new year. The first month is already half gone so I do hope all of your new year resolutions are coming to fruition.
I love creating and I want to make more art, I want to keep creating, but sometimes I can find it difficult to create. You have to know when to take a break and revitalize yourself. Heal yourself.
Perhaps an addiction, or bad habit. They eat away at us, from the outside in to make us look inside out, oh the indifference. But you’re alive. It’s a new year, another year, to revitalize.
