If you’re looking for a sign to slow down today, this is it. ✨ Subbu’s reaction to live music is the only energy we’re bringing into 2026. Turn the sound up and feel the “Swara & Saaz” peace.

This post is more for me than it is for you but this past year has been much like this blurry picture of beautiful flowers. I received them a year ago when I landed in Chennai for what was meant to be a 2 week exploratory trip. Here we are a year later…. Still here.
It feels like it’s gone by in a blur. It’s been hard to capture. Not necessarily framed well. But definitely beautiful. And DEFINITELY worth it. Trials. Tribulations. Fun. Fulfillment. And lots of love.
Thank you to all of you who made this past year what it was. And to the core handful (you know who you are)… couldn’t do it without you. AND… thank you to the givers of these flowers for allllllllllllllllllllll that you have been to me, done for me, given to me…. in this past year!
Back in Toronto to spend the weekend working with these two lovelies (and a whole bunch of others!). We’ll be hanging out at @gerrardindiabaz this weekend for Festival of South Asia.
Sunsets over water 😍 As they say, the sun must set in order for it to rise. And just the same, we must put down the weight of yesterday to make space to hold the joys of tomorrow. #sunset
Usually I have lots of words, but couldn’t think of any worthy of this caption. So… caption this please? Thanks 🙏🏼

For all those who have been (not necessarily so) gently encouraging me to step into a more feminine avatar and away from the “street” clothes that have become my second skin…. and for those who have been insisting that I post this to my feed… yeh lo. Wiped out for 2 days post this, but let me tell you Valentine’s Day 2025 was FULL of love! A full house at the stunning @sabhablr for the enthralling (and at times emotionally derailing) @vandanand & @madrasmehfil . The voices that filled the venue singing along, the laughter at the artists’ jokes, the responses to the emotional stimulation from the songs…. Couldn’t ask for a more amazing ambience and audience!
Thank you @noizzentertainment_india@bookmyshowin@unibiccookiesindia for bringing the Vandana Srinivasan & The Madras Mehfil Collective experience to Bengaluru for their first time!
Extremely grateful to @vandanand & @myhighway for having me on board 🫂
Lovely working with the entire team!

A beautiful Ghazal penned by Nasir Kazmi Sahab; poetry that encapsulates the feeling of being utterly besotted with someone & hoping that yearning continues to consume one's entire being.. That hope feels rather futile, like holding sand tightly in one's fist but it is this very thought (bordering on a paradox) that adds so much depth and meaning.
For instance, the poet expresses to his beloved in his writing: Please refrain from meeting sad beings (energy vampires in modern speak) for they might steal the joy & radiance you exude. The request could be seen as witty but on a deeper level, we want our loved ones to keep their precious spirits intact & the poet is no different.
Personally, this is a Ghazal I love to sing at live events. The melody appears simple but it is incredibly nuanced, which brings about a true sense of accomplishment when rendered well.
We have been receiving the most wonderful feedback about this song after our performances, so it is with great pleasure that I share our heartfelt rendition of Neeyat-e-Shauq. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
Abundant gratitude to my amazing team for bringing this project to life in a manner even better than I had envisioned. 🙏

✨| The Muhurtham Experience by The Madras Mehfil Collective |✨
To be part of such an intimate occasion is an absolute honour & I am often moved by the faith people place in us to be an integral element of their celebration. It is a massive emotional responsibility & one we do not take lightly.
Here is a glance at one such experience that brought us so much joy & gratification but what we particularly cherish as a precious memory is the range of soulful expressions we saw on everyone's faces that day. 🥰
