💫 Most people will know you as a make-up artist represented by Nixon Make-Up, what don’t they know?
Something people might not know about me is that l'm not only behind the scenes doing makeup - I'm sometimes in front of the camera too. It's really cool to experience both sides and be involved in both in different ways.
💫 What moments in your work make you feel the most honoured?
I would say to always be involved in people’s most important days. Whether it’s their wedding day, graduation day, matric dance. Monumental memories in people’s lives and I get to be a part of that special moment and experience it with them.
💫 Tell us about your family and how they have shaped you:
Everybody that knows me, knows how much my family means to me. My parents are my best friends and my biggest cheerleaders. When I decided to drop out of varsity 11 years ago to pursue make-up, my dad fully supported me following my passion. To be able to build a career out of something I truly love is extremely special to me.
💫 What nourishes your soul outside of make-up?
God, my husband, my family and my dogs.
💫 What’s your beauty philosophy?
Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself. Make-up allows you to feel like your best self, that’s what I love about it.
💫 What drives your passion?
Absolutely everything. The inspiration, the process and of course the end result - when everything comes together, seeing the reactions on brides faces, on their loved ones faces. There is no better feeling.
💫 What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of making a career out of my passion. From a young child I knew I wanted to do make up, and to follow that dream through to an adult is a feeling I will never take for granted.
