17th Jan: ‘Hey you want to do Hyrox with me…? We can do Taipei and visit Areum’ 30th Jan: ‘All signed up!!!’ If you have a fit friend like @timmerangelique who lives in different island but we’ve been close friends for 9 years and you know what she’s capable of, you wont turn those texts down 😂 And just like that, I trained for Hyrox women’s double for the next 11 weeks (sorry not 9). I ran at least 3x a week, did F45 sessions for 5 days a week and the rest is just history. 🥵 We’ve never done full simulation, we’ve only trained together twice, once in Bali and once in Jakarta, but we did communicate to each other a lot about each’s progress. I guess we’re not too shabby for some 40s women!! 😎 My dear Angelique… Thank you for being by my side and lifted me up when I was down, with the constant cheering and just kept drilling in my head before the race just to have fun! First Nyepi in Bali, and we chose to slow it all the way down… 🌳🌱
Escaped to a quiet cabin north of Ubud, surrounded by jungle, bringing just what we needed and letting the silence take over. The night before, we caught the magic of ogoh-ogoh in Ubud centre—absolutely breathtaking—before getting panickedly stuck for 2 hours on the way back thanks to village road closures 😆 Nyepi day itself was simple and grounding: resting, staying in the dark, embracing the stillness (not always easy with an almost-teen full of energy 😅), and soaking in the sounds of nature around us 📚 The next day, we were back on the road… Buleleng for lunch, Besakih Temple, a quick stop in Klungkung for dinner, then home. Pegeeell, but worth every kilometer 🚙🫣🎶 Missed the starry Nyepi sky this time (rain had other plans), and I didn’t catch the Melasti procession (taun depan harus lebih siap) but still, this season feels special in its own quiet way… Harus lebih sering ngga sih, Nyepi inii 😍 And Tussdy? It’s already the 10th of January and I’m still trying to wrap up the last month of 2025. 🫩😑 Two years of monthly recaps… and this one feels different…. 🫥 Life happened. Schedules scattered. Energy dipped. So maybe this is the end of the monthly recaps. Or maybe I’ll post by moments, not months. Or maybe I’ll go quiet for a bit 😝 If I disappear, it probably means I’m sort of okay — just taking a social media detox, or stop comparing my life to others.. 🤧 2025 taught me that even when you win a lot, you can lose a lot too.. We lost a dear friend who’s been part of our lives for over two decades. I still can’t believe you’re gone, John. 😭 Rest in love. We miss you already — and I’m sorry we couldn’t make it to you, hope someone’s enjoying your dry jokes like we did up there 🥺

Walked around Ubud early morning and snapped these. Life moving beautifully around me.. It drizzled for a bit while the sun was still out and how I love this combination 😍 The perfect rainbow appeared and felt like a hug. Feeling blessed would be an understatement… Thank you 🖤

Took my camera out and went up to Penglipuran village one day before Galungan where Balinese celebrate victory of good over evil. It’s been raining almost continuously in Ubud area and there was a bit of delay in putting all these penjors. So blessed to be able to see this with my own eyes 😍 Rahajeng Galungan! 🖤 Pas Kuningan bisa foto-foto dimana ya, temans?
