Here’s the watch we don’t talk about enough! This April is World Pilots Day, and it felt like the right time to talk about the watch we built around aviation and the people who fly us safely every day. The MACH 1® has been part of the Bangalore Watch Company lineup since 2019. Named after MACH 1®, the speed of sound, it’s our aviation collection. And the Aviator variant is one we don’t spotlight enough. It’s a classic Type B pilot watch. 40mm case. Sapphire crystal. 100 metres of water resistance. Swiss automatic movement. The dial is cockpit-styled — minute markers printed prominently, the way pilot watches have always been designed. What sets it apart is 40 layers of Swiss Super-Luminova, giving it a glow that actually performs in low light conditions. Pilot watches were never made to be decorative. They were built as tools for people who needed to read the time instantly. That’s exactly what the MACH 1® Aviator is. Why wear a watch when you can wear a story on your wrist? #bangalorewatchco #bangalorewatchcompany #indianwatch #watchcollection #pilotwatch

We had a room full of pilots at the boutique. That doesn’t happen every day. Pilots from across aviation, in one room, with the watches we built around their stories. The MACH 1® was always built around stories of Indian aviation. But this evening, the people who actually inspired those watches were here to see them in person. They spent time at the boutique, sat through a watchmaking lesson with our watchmaker, handled the watches, asked the questions only pilots would ask. They looked at the collection of watches named after the speed of sound, built around the history of Indian aviation and they understood it in a way most people don’t. That’s the thing about building watches around real stories. When the real people walk in, the watches mean something different. This April marks International Pilots Day. There was no better way to mark it than having the pilots who inspired the MACH 1® spend an evening with it. Our flagship boutique is now open for anyone who wants to see the watches up close, take time with the details, and understand the stories behind the collection. What do you wear when the season changes? In most parts of the world, this time means spring. In Bangalore, it means summer is already here. The sun is out, the heat is up, and just like your wardrobe, your watch choices change too. This summer, we picked two watches that we think work perfectly for the season. The first is the MACH 1® Silk Scarf in Aerobloom. It’s a light pink dial, soft and easy on the eye, exactly the kind of colour that makes sense when the days get brighter. It’s Swiss automatic, water resistant up to 100 metres, and built to be worn every single day without a second thought. The second pick is the Cover Drive® Yellow Jersey. A light yellow dial, sandwich construction, domed sapphire crystal, Swiss automatic movement, and again, 100 metres of water resistance. It’s a bold, cheerful watch that holds its own in the summer sun. When we pick watches for a season, we think about what actually works with what you’re wearing. Light dials, easy colours, watches that don’t feel heavy on the wrist or out of place with a summer outfit. These two do exactly that. So those are our picks for this summer. We’d love to know yours. Come by our flagship boutique on Lavelle Road and tell us what you’re wearing this season. #bangalorewatchco #bangalorewatchcompany #summerwatch #indianwatch #watchcollection

What if your watch carried the story of India’s first step into space? We all know how ISRO began in a small fishing village in Thumba, Kerala. But in 1975, that journey took a defining turn when India built its first satellite, Aryabhata. Designed and developed indigenously, it marked the beginning of India’s space programme as we know it today. That story is captured in the APOGEE® series. Launched in 2021, APOGEE® is built around India’s space journey. The watch features a 40 mm case, with a dual-crown setup, one to set the time and date, and the other to control an internal rotating bezel to track a second time zone. On the back is where the story comes alive. A 3D-embossed Aryabhata satellite sits on the caseback, detailed tribute to the first satellite that changed the course of Indian space exploration. At BWC, every watch is built around modern Indian stories, told through design and engineering. APOGEE® reflects one of the most defining of them, India’s journey into space. Because sometimes, it’s not just about wearing a watch it’s about wearing the story behind it. #bangalorewatchco #bwc #apogee #aryabhatasatellite #watchcaseback

Evening at the boutique, just how it should be. We had a wonderful evening hosting a private viewing at the flagship boutique. It was a great opportunity to spend time with fellow watch enthusiasts talking about watches, the stories behind them, and not just about watches, but a relaxed space to meet people and have conversations beyond them. This boutique is created to bring together a community of watch lovers. A space where conversations around modern Indian watchmaking can happen. If you’ve been meaning to visit, come by, spend time with the watches, see the details up close, and meet the team. For eight years, BWC lived online and on wrists across cities and countries through DMs, popups, events, and meetups. A permanent space was always on the horizon; it just took time to build it right. What began with the two of us packing and sending out every watch is now a team of 12 operating out of Bangalore, and that idea is now a place you can walk into. BWC flagship boutique is now open at Lavelle Road, Bangalore. If you’ve been meaning to visit, come say hi to the team, try the watches, and see how they feel on your wrist. Did you notice the cricket bat on the Cover Drive?   In 1979, during a Test match in Perth, Dennis Lilley walked out to bat with an aluminium cricket bat. It caused controversy and was soon banned, but it also drew attention to how cricket bats have evolved over time.   Early cricket bats looked very different. When the game was played underarm, bats were shaped more like hockey sticks. As cricket changed, so did the bat. Today, willow bats are carefully designed and customised to suit individual playing styles, making them one of the most important tools in the game.   Cover Drive brings together these centuries of cricket history through its design. The watch carries multiple references to the sport - the ball, the stumps, boundary markers and even the smallest details are intentional.   One of those details is the bat-shaped counterbalance on the seconds hand. It’s subtle, but it directly connects the watch to the game.   If you’d like to see these details up close and explore the Cover Drive collection, visit us at the BWC flagship boutique in Lavelle road, Bangalore. #bangalorewatchco #bangalorewatchcompany #indianwatch #cricketwatch #coverdrive

The official launch night of BWC flagship boutique.   Opening night brought together our owners, the watch community, friends, and everyone who’s been part of the BWC journey so far. You walk into the flagship space, took time with the watches, and spent time with the team. That’s exactly what this space is meant for.   This isn’t a retail store. It’s a place to slow down, feel the watches, ask questions, and get closer to the stories behind them. There’s also a glimpse of our Masterclass space where you get into the intricacies of watchmaking and how we get high-quality mechanical watches to work.   If you’ve been meaning to visit us, this space is now open for you. Walk in, spend time with the watches, and see how they feel on your wrist. Ever noticed the bird in our logo?   One of the most common questions we’re asked is about the photo wall and the symbol that appears in our logo.   The bird is the Gandaberunda, a twin-headed mythical bird that has been part of Karnataka’s coat of arms for centuries. It represents strength and balance, and it reflects the region where Bangalore Watch Company was founded.   When we started the brand in 2018, we wanted our identity to carry local heritage while remaining rooted in serious watchmaking. Mechanical watchmaking has a history of over 250 years, built around precision engineering such as the Swiss lever escapement.   Our logo brings these two ideas together. The form of the Gandaberunda is combined with the pallet fork of a Swiss lever escapement, creating a symbol that represents both Indian heritage and Swiss watchmaking tradition.   If you’d like to learn more about our logo, the brand story, or explore our watches, you’re welcome to visit us at the Bangalore Watch Company flagship boutique in Bangalore.   #bangalorewatchco #bangalorewatchcompany #BWCLogo #indianwatch
