This photo played a key part in pushing me to learn and practise the entire analogue photography workflow - developing films at home and printing in a darkroom. At the time when I took this photo, I sent the film to a lab for developing and printing. What came out did not seem like my work at all.
So I recently returned to this negative and spent around 4 hours to achieve what I had in mind. It was the first time I played with split grade exposure for printing which really helped bring out my vision.

You could feel the texture of the bark and branches on this photo. It is quite different from the sharpness of a digital image which is ineffable and needs to be felt up close. That's the beauty of analogue.
