What began as a restaurant project became a shared language of design, detail, and trust! With @nirajsha (Niraj Shah) and the team at @idodesignindia (IDO Design), every fabric, tone, and texture at @lollorossoindia (Lollo Rosso) was carefully refined to feel effortless in the final space. Four parts later, this collaboration reminds us that great interiors aren’t built individually, they come together through synergy. When the outside is this serene, the inside has to speak the same language. Greens that connect, textures that soften, and a centre fabric that quietly became the hero of the space. @nirajsha (Niraj Shah) of @idodesignindia (IDO Design) with @drapeshoppe (Drape Shoppe) for @lollorossoindia (Lollo Rosso), Adani Shantigram. Part 3 of 4 videos, last one left, are you enjoying this series so far? Not every fabric is chosen to stand out, some are chosen to respond. In hospitality spaces, fabrics can quietly shape the experience. From softening glass, to adding warmth, balancing movement, and creating depth where architecture leaves openness. Good interiors aren’t built with isolated elements, they’re layered through materials that understand the space they belong to. A space like this doesn’t need more colour, it needs the right colour. Subtle reds, layered greens and a central fabric that ties the inside to the outside, almost seamlessly. @nirajsha (Niraj Shah) of @idodesignindia (IDO Design) trusted @drapeshoppe (Drape Shoppe) for the fabrics of @lollorossoindia (Lollo Rosso) at Adani Shantigram. So we sat down, pointed a camera, and let him walk us through the whole story. A conversation series about what it really takes to bring a space to life. Stay tuned for next parts! CRAFT PRACTICE Craft, Reconsidered This exploration began not with a craft, but with a question. What happens when craft is not treated as an enhanced object of value, but as a living layer within everyday life? In that moment, the choice of craft became secondary. What emerged instead was the idea of a product system where craft could enter, adapt, and belong. A Shift in Perspective Over time, craft has found a powerful place in the world of the refined and the rare. This has helped elevate its value, its visibility, and its desirability. Yet, there is another possibility worth exploring. What if craft could move more fluidly? Across contexts, across price points, across everyday objects. Not as something distant, but as something present, usable, and quietly integrated. The Exploration This led us toward two parallel directions: 1. Revitalisation Breathing new life into existing objects through crafted intervention. in ways that add meaning, function, and narrative. In both cases craft becomes an insert: visible, intentional, and purposeful. 2. As a layer of identity and story that adds to an existing, will designed, neutral and functional mass produced furniture like of IKEA. THIS PICTURE ; Revitalisation The Broken Chair A broken chair is restored using a turned Sankheda leg, attached through its original joinery. The intervention does not conceal itself. It reveals its role. As structure. As support. As a moment of care. Repair becomes expression. And the object carries both its past and present, as a connect. Who doesn’t know @nirajsha and the work of @idodesignindia Met him today and had a really good, clear conversation. What I genuinely appreciated was how simple and grounded he is despite the scale of work. Very prompt, very clear, and completely involved in the discussion. It wasn’t just a meeting… there was real exchange of ideas, team involvement, and actual conversations around ongoing projects and possibilities. Good to meet people who don’t just talk design, but actually work with intent.

What a wonderful time it was with Niraj Shah at UID-NCR. He conducted a combined session on “Duanter – A Dual Design Perspective” along with an engaging solo session titled “The Aha Moment.” Through these sessions, he shared sharp and thought-provoking insights on how design can be interpreted and expressed through diverse perspectives, encouraging students to look beyond the obvious and explore the deeper layers of creativity and meaning in their work. Students were completely absorbed in the session, enjoying the way Niraj connected real-life experiences with design thinking. The session helped them rethink their own creative processes and appreciate the power of perspective in design. It was not only an insightful learning experience but also an inspiring one, leaving the audience with plenty of “aha moments” of their own. #uidncr #tdm2026 #thedesignmasala #designconclave #gurgaon
