Glowcare Foundation, in partnership with @weservewell l and @ninispace_foundation successfully distributed reusable sanitary pads to all female students at CAC Grammar School, conducted menstrual hygiene education, and established a pad bank for emergency periods.
As part of our policy proposal pilot study, we renovated the school's toilets, making them period-friendly. On Menstrual Hygiene Day, we engaged with students in discussions on menstrual health and commissioned the renovated toilets for use.
Our goal is to ensure that girls can manage their periods with dignity, without missing school or resorting to unhygienic practices. We'll continue advocating for period equity. A period-friendly Nigeria is possible! π Let's #EndPeriodPoverty"

*The Complete Sandwich: A Period-Friendly World
Curbing period poverty is like making a sandwich
It has different layers to it
If we stand a chance to ending period poverty then every aspect of it has to be addressed to make a perfect sandwich our founder's @e_greai speech during our period equity summit last month
Let's creatively illustrate curbing period poverty like making a sandwich with layers:
*Layer 1: Awareness* (Bread)
Raising awareness about menstrual health, hygiene, and period poverty.
*Layer 2: Education* (Lettuce)
Providing education on menstrual health, hygiene, and management.
*Layer 3: Access to Products* (Tomato)
Ensuring access to affordable, safe, and hygienic menstrual products.
*Layer 4: Sanitation Facilities* (Cheese)
Providing clean, private, and safe toilets, water, and disposal facilities.
*Layer 5: Community Support* (Meat/Protein)
Building a supportive community that promotes dignity and inclusivity.
*Layer 6: Policy and Advocacy* (Sauce)
Advocating for policies and programs that address period poverty and promote menstrual health and hygiene.
*
By combining these layers, we can create a supportive environment that promotes dignity, health, and well-being for all individuals, particularly those affected by period poverty.
