“AAA heartbeat”-
I have not had the words to express what Aftermath: Analyzing Anguish meant to me. To fully articulate the tender and cozy place all of these talented visionaries hold in my heart. I can say that it wouldn’t have been possible without my FULL team of actors, production, and all those in between that lent their heart to this show. And it’d be true. I can credit everyone as an artist should, and I will. But this story, this journey, and these people held me with so much care. They trusted my words and I theirs. They saw my vision and worked tirelessly to help make it happen. AAA cradled my grief and built a playground around it. I will love my cast & crew foreva eva. Thank you team. Thank you viBeCollab Residency. Thank you family, bestfriends, NAP, and everyone that trusted me with their tears, laughter, praise, stomps cry’s shouts and storiesss in that theater. I’m so happy some of you saw yourself. 🕊️💐

Excerpt 7/6
“Daddy,
I wrote a play about it. I wrote a play until I couldn’t write anymore. I wrote a disjointed story to make this make sense… I wrote and poured and oozed all over 43 pages of poetry and dialogue to make sense of this pain. I wrote so much that I had to rewrite and ask myself if I wanted to share as much as I did. I wrote parts of our story. I wrote you with dignity…. I wrote mj with dignity. I cried on those pages and pleaded for people to see how badly I miss you. Not to fix it. But to grasp how large and multitudinous you are. I wrote you and still couldn’t capture you fully. I told our story to prove to myself you were real and validate that I’m not holding on to the past for no reason. I wrote to hold on to that moment forever in 43 pages…. I wrote so people never forget you were real. You were here. For 23 years you were with me. You loved me. You laughed with me. You were my dad for 23 years. I wrote to remember that I’d do it all again to have those last moments with you. I wrote to capture 430 days of life without my bestfriend. I wrote to my find my Rythym.
