Fear of God x Jackie Robinson, shot by @nilsericson
Nils recently reconnected with Fear of God for their Jackie Robinson Collection, leaning into a quieter, more intimate kind of storytelling.
A single morning in Jackie Robinson’s life, before the stadium, before the spotlight. Breakfast at the table. Stepping outside to hit a few balls with neighborhood kids. The familiar rhythm of routine. A perspective that centers the man, not the myth.
Spent a few days in South Dakota with my friend Nate - walking, working out, loving on dogs, and watching a world I know almost nothing about. His organization, Sage to Saddle, teaches kids on the Pine Ridge Reservation to ride horses year-round, especially through the long winter when there’s almost nothing else to do. The stakes out there are unbelievably high. His dedication to those kids, the animals, and that place is a gift. Give Nate and Sage a follow.
Many moons ago, I was a high school senior in Des Moines, Iowa, and got to usher for the school’s synchronized swimming show—then the longest-running club in the U.S. Fast forward to their centennial year, and they let me sneak in on a practice. Thanks to the Sharks, their coach, and a city and state that keep traditions alive.
On the field and in the stands, this is what visibility looks like. A new generation watching, believing, and seeing what’s possible. Shot by @nilsericson for Nike.
To the women we photograph and the impact they make. Happy International Women’s Month!
