There’s something incredibly satisfying about watching an idea move from a blank wall… to framing… to drywall dust… to one of the most intentional focal points in the home. This fireplace was never about just adding a firebox to a wall. It was about restraint. Precision. Proportion. And making every detail feel effortless… even though there was nothing effortless about getting there. We refined this concept over and over until it felt exactly right. The cantilevered raised hearth. The minimalist architectural lines. The hidden speakers. The carved-out niche designed to recess the components behind the television so the entire elevation could remain as clean and flush as possible. At one point, we even changed the television selection entirely because the aesthetic wasn’t aligning with the vision. (Yes… we absolutely care that much. 😂) And truthfully, that’s the part people don’t always see. Good design isn’t just about choosing beautiful things. It’s about making hundreds of thoughtful decisions that quietly support the final experience of the space. The result is a fireplace that feels calm, architectural, elevated, and deeply integrated into the home rather than simply applied onto it. This is one of my favorite fireplaces we’ve ever designed because it perfectly represents our philosophy: Luxury should feel intentional. Minimalism should still feel warm. And the best spaces are the ones where every detail has been considered long before the final reveal. Because when thoughtful planning meets beautiful execution… the room speaks for itself.

Over the weekend as I was looking back at images from my trip to Venice, I had this moment of realizing… the dream life isn’t something that just magically arrives one day fully finished. It’s built. Layer by layer. Decision by decision. Risk by risk. Which is the exactly how I approach design. The most meaningful homes (and honestly, the most meaningful lives) are collected over time. Thoughtfully curated. Lived in. Refined. Still evolving. I think a lot of us are so focused on the next milestone that we forget to appreciate the life we’re actively creating in real time. The quiet moments. The growth. The work behind the scenes no one sees. And maybe that’s actually the beautiful part.

One of the biggest parts of our job isn’t just selecting beautiful pieces. It’s helping clients navigate the decisions behind them without feeling overwhelmed by 47 tabs, 12 opinions, and one suspiciously fast-shipping sectional from the internet. The goal is clarity, not overwhelm. Good design is rarely about impulsive decisions. It’s about understanding the trade-offs, prioritizing what matters most, and making choices that feel aligned long after the delivery truck leaves. As designers, part of our role is being trusted advisors. We’ll always give you the information, but we’ll also guide you toward the decision that serves the bigger picture of your home, lifestyle, and long-term investment. Even if it means a temporary setback now for a result you’ll love for years. Because “good enough for now” has a funny way of becoming “why did we do this again?” six months later. Behind every finished room is a thousand tiny conversations about timing, quality, comfort, function, and what’s truly worth waiting for. And honestly? Sometimes luxury looks like patience. So in the end there’s good news and there’s bad news. The good news is; no one has ever died of a sofa emergency. The bad news is; Aunt Esther and them might have to sit on folding chairs for the Labor Day Festivities.

Somewhere between “family-friendly” and “still feels like adults live here too” is the sweet spot… and honestly? That’s where the magic happens. This family room transformation was designed for a household with two active boys, which meant the space had to work hard without looking like it was working hard. Comfortable enough for movie nights, durable enough for everyday life, functional enough for the constant rhythm of family living… but still layered with personality, warmth, and a sense of style that felt elevated. Because a family home shouldn’t feel like a showroom. But it also shouldn’t feel like a daycare with a sectional. One of my favorite parts of this transformation is how the room still feels approachable and relaxed while quietly solving so many functional needs behind the scenes. That balance is the goal every single time And yes… the boys still had room to be boys. We just upgraded the backdrop a little.

There’s something really beautiful about this stage of the process. The part where the ideas are still a little messy… the lines are loose… and we’re solving problems before they ever become your problems. These wireframe sketches may look simple, but this is where a home begins to feel intentional. Where we test scale, circulation, functionality, conversation flow, sight lines, furniture placement, and all of those tiny details that quietly shape how a space will feel, long before the styling and profiling happens. Because the goal isn’t just about making a room look beautiful. It’s about making life inside of it feel easier. So we’re thinking through it now so you can enjoy it later. And the whole team (from project management to contractors) is thinking through EVERYTHING; from a natural place for your morning coffee to land, to making entertaining feels effortless, to room flow. We all want your home to support your lifestyle instead of competing with it. And yes… sometimes it starts with sketchy little lines over an iPad photo and a me staring at a wall like I’m personally offended by it (don’t judge me). But that’s just part of the process. The glamour comes later. The planning is what makes it last.

The Blues Not the loud kind.
Not quite the “throw on a sad playlist and spiral for three business days” kind. More like the quiet kind. The kind that lingers. The kind that softens a room and somehow makes it feel more human. This mood board explores blue as emotion, not just color. Cobalt. Ultramarine. Midnight. Ink. Smoke. Memory. There’s something beautifully cinematic about blue interiors when they’re layered correctly. They can feel introspective without feeling cold… dramatic without shouting… grounding without becoming heavy. It’s the design equivalent of a deep exhale after a long week. I’m especially drawn to the tension between softness and structure, romance and restraint, art layered against tailored materials. Because the best spaces don’t just look beautiful. They make you feel something. This palette feels like jazz playing in another room.
Like a memory you can’t quite place. Like falling in love in a beautifully lit hotel lobby. Approachable luxury isn’t always bright and airy.
Sometimes it’s soulful.

Where form meets function… and they actually get along. One of my favorite things in design is finding opportunities in the “in-between” spaces. The areas that most people walk past, overlook, or label as just a hallway. This oversized landing in a two-story condo became so much more than a pass-through moment. It became a pause. A landing spot. A quiet little exhale before stepping into the main living space. By adding a simple console-style desk and chair, this once-empty area suddenly had purpose. In fact it could serve multiple purposes. As a study nook, a catch-all for keys, mail, and the Amazon packages we all pretend we’re not expecting 👀, a moment to sit, reset, or answer one last email before dinner Luxury design isn’t always about adding more. Sometimes it’s about making every square foot feel considered, intentional, and supportive of real life. Swipe to see the transformation from builder-basic blank slate to a designed, functional moment with personality.

Hosting hits different when the space is right. This screening + multi-purpose space started when a client saw another concept of ours online and said: “We want that feeling… but bigger.” Say less. The goal was to create a space that could flex effortlessly between family movie nights, large informal gatherings, and even neighborhood civic and fundraising events… all while still feeling warm, intimate, and elevated. The layout became everything here. Multiple seating zones, layered lighting, integrated storage, and lounge-style furniture allow the room to shift depending on the occasion while still feeling cohesive and comfortable. My initial instinct, honestly, was to create a cozy, cave-like screening room with rows of oversized recliners because I personally find that kind of space incredibly soothing. But this project called for something different. We had to think outside the box. The design became more abstract, layered, and hospitality-inspired while still bringing in the comforts that make movie-watching feel special and immersive. Because the best entertaining spaces don’t just look beautiful. They make people want to stay a little longer. And to me, when that happens, I know I’ve got a winner on my hands. Ayyyyeeeeee 🙌🏾

Where everyday moments feel a little more special. Not every luxury space needs to be grand to change the way you live. Sometimes it’s a thoughtfully planned pool cabana with a cozy sitting area, a tucked-away kitchenette for impromptu summer cocktails, a spa-like shower after a swim, and panoramic doors that blur the line between indoors and out. This project was designed to feel like a boutique hotel escape… without ever leaving home. Because the real magic of good design isn’t just how a space looks. It’s how effortlessly it supports the life happening inside it. Morning coffee before the house wakes up. Kids running in from the pool. Friends gathered around after dinner. A quiet moment with a podcast; might I suggest To-the-Trade (shameless plug) and a chilled drink after a long day. Those are the moments we design for. And yes, we absolutely obsess over layouts, circulation paths, materials, lighting, and where the towel hooks go so you don’t have to. That’s the glamorous side of design nobody talks about, but everybody appreciates. Approachable luxury, at its best, should feel elevated… but easy. Refined… but lived in. Like your favorite resort learned your routines and designed around them. That’s the goal every single time.
